Identity<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any applicant with one of the following conditions is NOT eligible for applying as an international student:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Has previously studied in the ROC as an Overseas Chinese student.<\/li>\n<li>Has been dismissed or withdrawn from a university\/college in Taiwan due to behavioral issues, poor academic performance, or criminal conviction.<\/li>\n<li>Holds Hong Kong, Macau, or PRC nationality without concurrently holding a foreign passport.<\/li>\n<li>Holds ROC nationality&nbsp;<strong>and has household registration in Taiwan<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Once held ROC nationality but has not renounced it for more than 6 years prior to the intended enrollment semester.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Violation of the above-mentioned regulations will result in immediate cancellation of the applicant&rsquo;s admission or the deprivation of the applicant&rsquo;s recognized status as a MCU registered student, or revocation of the applicant&rsquo;s MCU diploma. No academic certificate will be given.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>2. Language Requirements<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Sufficient English ability (Only applicable to students who apply to English-taught programs):<br \/>(1) Applicants with English as a native language or graduates from school where English is the language of instruction.<br \/>(2) Applicants who have achieved required scores on an internationally recognized English proficiency test (TOEFL ITP 500 or TOEFL Paper test 500 or TOEFL iBT 61 or TOEFL CBT 173 or IELTS 5 or TOEIC 550.)<\/p>\n<p>2. Sufficient Chinese ability (Only applicable to students who apply to Chinese-taught programs):<\/p>\n<p>(1) Applicants with Chinese as a native language.<br \/>(2) <a href=\"https:\/\/tocfl.edu.tw\/#googtrans(zh-tw|en)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TOCFL B1 level<\/a>\/Level 3 or intermediate level of other Mandarin Chinese language proficiency tests.<br \/>(3)&nbsp;The International Program of the Department of Applied Chinese and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language accepts applicants with TOCFL A2 level<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>3. Form 5 graduates are required to take an additional 12 credits to graduate.<\/p>\n<p>(3) Undergraduate applicants must have completed at least 11 years of high school (Form 5). (The English or Chinese verified version is also necessary if the original diploma is not in either language. (The English or Chinese verified version is also necessary if the original transcript is not in either language. (English or Chinese verified version is also necessary if the original transcript is not in either language.
