If you plan to pursue a new degree program in Taiwan (including at MCU), please report to the Section of International Student Service (E Building, 2nd floor) to ensure the continuation of your National Health Insurance (NHI) and ARC validity.

6 Things Every Graduate Should Know
I. ARC 居留證
- Switching to a “Job-Seeking” ARC:
- Graduates can use the MCU diploma to apply for a “Job-Seeking” ARC at the Immigration Office. This ARC is valid for 1 year and can be extended for another year (total 2 years).
畢業學生可憑銘傳畢業證書至移民署申請 “JOB-Seeking” 居留證，效期一年，可申請兩次，合計兩年。 - Once you graduate, MCU will notify the Immigration Office, and your current ARC will eventually be canceled, even if it is still valid.
學校將通報你已畢業，移民署會在程序後取消你的居留證。 - If you plan to leave Taiwan and return later to look for a job, apply for the “Job-Seeking” ARC before leaving Taiwan.
如計畫出國後再回台找工作，請務必在出國前申請 “JOB-Seeking” 居留證。

- Pursuing a new degree in Taiwan:
- If you intend to pursue a new degree in Taiwan, you cannot use the MCU diploma to extend your ARC. Only the admission letter for the new program can be used for this purpose.
攻讀新學位只能使用新學程的錄取通知書來延期居留證，不得使用銘傳大學的畢業證書延期居留。

- Starting a full-time job in Taiwan:
- Use your diploma to extend your ARC and work with your employer to apply for a work visa and a new ARC. Confirm details with your employer.
在台全職工作，需用畢業證書延期居留證，並由公司申請工作簽證及居留證。

II. National Health Insurance (NHI) 全民健康保險
- Your NHI through MCU will expire on February 28, 2025.
學校健保效期至2025年2月28日。 - After graduation, if you are not yet employed, you can continue your NHI coverage by applying directly at the National Health Insurance Agency.
畢業後，未找到全職工作前，可至健保局申請繼續投保健保。 - Before permanently leaving Taiwan, cancel your NHI at the agency.
離開台灣前請至健保局辦理退保。
III. Student Work Permit 工作證
- Graduating students’ work permits remain valid until January 31, 2025.
應屆畢業生之工作證有效至2025年1月31日。

V. Extending Students 延修生
- Registration for Spring 2025 (February):
- Registration is on January 22-23, 2025. Complete it on the Registration Website, select courses, and pay the bill (includes NHI fee of NTD 4,956).
註冊日期為2025年1月22日至23日，請在註冊網站完成選課並繳交費用（包括健保費4,956元）。

- Extending ARC:
- If your ARC expires before registration day, apply for an “Extending Study Certificate” from the MCU Registration Office at A building, 3rd Floor, Taipei Campus to renew your ARC.
如果你的居留證在註冊日前到期，請前往銘傳大學台北校區A棟3樓註冊組申請‘延長修業證明’以便延期居留證。 - If it expires after registration, extend it with your stamped Student ID at the MCU Registration Office at A building, 3rd Floor, Taipei Campus.

VI. Diploma and Transcript Verification 畢業證書及成績單認證
Document verification depends on personal needs and involves two steps:

- Court Notarization at Shihlin District Court.
- Authentication at BOCA (Bureau of Consular Affairs).

It is Non-essential to verify your diploma and transcripts. It depends on whether you need these documents to be verified by Taiwan’s government agency or not.
