In order to help newly arrived enrolling students with their transportation, airport pick up service is offered to students who reserve and complete the airport pick-up application form. The airport pick-up application form should be submitted at least two weeks before the flight schedule. The service is only available to students commencing their first semester.
Accommodations
Taoyuan
On-Campus Dorm: There are 2,400 dormitory units available for students on campus and off campus. Female students can choose a 4-person room with a bathroom to live. Beds, desks, book shelves, closet, wash basin, shower rooms, bathroom, air conditioners and Internet are available as well. There are laundry rooms, common lounges, clothes drying rooms for residents on each floor.
Deming Dorm (Off-Campus): It is a 3-person room (with mini fridge) at Taihsin. There are about 510 units. Beds, desks, book shelves, closets, air conditioners and Internet are provided. Coin-operated washing machine, dryers, and clothes drying rooms are available for students as well. The location is close to Datung park, 10-min walking distance to school.
Taipei
Jixian Dorm(Off-Campus): There are about 710 units available at Jixian dormitory. The room type is 4-person rooms with bathroom inside; and with small refrigerators in each room. This dormitory is not far from parks; Carrefour, Starbucks and 7-11 are all nearby. There are bus stops at the Wuhua Street intersection, Fenziwei and New Taipei Senior High School (Take bus No. 816 to the university gate or “Red 9” to MRT Jiantan Station.). St. Ignatius High School MRT station is nearby and several Ubike stations are located on Ruyi Street. These accommodations have convenient transportation and quality living environment.
Taipei Campus (On-Campus): There are about 830 units available in Taipei on-campus dorms. There are two types of rooms: 6-person rooms (no bathroom inside) and 4-person rooms (with bathroom). Beds, desks, book shelves, closet, air conditioner and Internet are provided in every room. Common room and TV and newspaper are provided on each floor.
Curfew
In all dormitories, on- and off-campus, curfew will be implemented from 23:00pm to 6:00am of the next morning. Dormitory supervisor will call the roll at 23:00pm to maintain safety. Dormitories for couples or families are not available.
Important Information
1.Students must sign an academic year contract. Residents who wish to move out from the dormitory must file a student report and refunds will be dealt in accordance with MOE regulations after the report is approved. Residents who have filed and received approval on applications for continuing tenancy, do not have to vacate their luggage and personal belongings during summer vacation.(The resident of Jixian dorm and Deming dorms need to move to on-campus dorms during the summer and winter vocations.)
2.Students should prepare a bed quilt, pillow, and mattress on their own, or students may purchase a new set from Carrefour and Deming dormitory.
3. Cash deposit for keys is required when a resident checks in to the dorm. On-Campus dorm is NTD 1,000 per person; off-campus dorm is NTD 2,000 per person.
4.Please indicate the campus, dorm, and recipient clearly if you need to send your luggage to the dorm by post.
5. Due to university regulations, for undergraduate students the duration of residency for both on-campus and off-campus dorms is limited two academic years(Only the resident of Shuiyuan dorm has to move to on-campus Taipei dorm in the second academic year). For graduate students the duration of residency for on-campus and off-campus dorms is limited one academic year (Do not offer the stay in the second academic year).

MING CHUAN ON-CAMPUS STUDENT DORMITORY POLICIES
- Students who have been admitted to live in the dormitories must stay for a complete school year. Exceptions will only be made because of dropping out of school, serious illness, or parents moving to the country or city where the campus is located.
- From 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., students should not leave the building without the permission of the Dormitory Supervisor or On-Duty Military Officer.
- Every night from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., each student must be present in his or her own dormitory room for attendance record. If a student is absent and has not signed out, the school will notify the parents or the guardians of the student. If a student fails to check-in three times, he or she will be penalized.
- All students need to respect the rules of the dormitory. Student who do not live in the dormitory are prohibited from entering the building. Especially, students are prohibited from entering dormitories of the opposite gender. Male students are strictly prohibited from entering female students’ dormitories and vice-versa.
- Students should take good care of their personal belongings because the school is not responsible for students’ losses.
- Students should work together to keep the dormitory clean by doing trash recycling procedure, separate the trash and dispose properly. Students should not litter in the room, hall, courtyard, and other public areas.
- Students are responsible for the facilities and they will be fined if the facilities mentioned above are damaged.
- No hangings - including paintings or posters - are permitted on the walls or on the closet doors. Students are also not permitted to use adhesive tape or write on the walls of the dormitory. Please keep the walls and closet clean; rooms must be in their original condition when students check out.
- Students have no right to sublet the room or mortgage the room.
- No cooking, drinking, gambling, quarrelling, fighting and no pets are allowed in the dormitory. Behavior that endangers faculty, staff and students will not be permitted.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in the dormitory. Please do not make loud noises and keep your voice down to respect others.
- Students are only able to use the television from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Guests should leave the dormitory before 10 p.m. as they are prohibited from sleeping overnight in the dormitory.
- Students will be punished according to the dormitory policy if they break the rules. Besides the regulations above, students must also comply with the school regulations.
- Residents may use the air conditioner in their rooms after they have purchased the prepaid card.
- Foreign students, Overseas Chinese Students and Overseas Chinese Class students have priority for continuing residency in university student housing, on condition of completing at least 30 hours of housing volunteer service every semester. However, any residents who have violated dormitory regulations more than three times in a semester are not allowed to reapply for residency. Continuing residency must be approved by the University.

Before classes start, university will hold an orientation for all freshmen. On the orientation day, freshmen will be given a brief introduction of what they will experience in their years of study at Ming Chuan.

Ming Chuan University has canteens, convenience stores, and several restaurants on campus. Beside these, there are plenty of food stores and restaurants near campus. The estimation of spending for food is 150-200 NT dollars per day.

International flights arrive at Taoyuan Airport, which is about 30 minutes from the Taoyuan campus (about NT$800 by taxi) and 60 minutes from the Taipei campus (about NT$1,200 by taxi).

Taoyuan campus is about 20 minutes from the Taoyuan Train Station. Public bus No.137 runs a round trip from Taoyuan campus to Taoyuan Train Station. It costs NT$18 one way. A taxi from Taoyuan Train Station to the Taoyuan campus costs around NT$150. Taoyuan city (the nearest city from Taoyuan campus) is a business area. There are lots of restaurants, markets, and department stores there. - Around Taipei Campus
Taipei campus is a 5-minute walk from the Shihlin or Chientan Mass Rapid Transit station (MRT) of Taipei. Moreover, this campus is located on a main road, Zhong-Shan North Road, which is served by numerous bus lines. There are several bus stops in front of Taipei Campus’ main gate.
